Lightboard Training
The Editing Process
Editing Lightboard footage may seem difficult, but it's actually much simpler than most other video editing. Because we are aiming for a consistent end product, you don't need to make difficult decisions about switching angles, topic editing, or creative storytelling. Another perk is that each set of videos only needs the first video edited; the remaining videos can have the effects applied by copying and pasting the effects from the edited video. The video screencast above demonstrates the editing process, but it's also been broken into the basic steps with screenshots below.
Step by Step Editing
Follow these directions and reference the accompanying screenshots for a step-by-step guide to editing Lightboard Footage. The instructions will be spaced out so they are next to the relevant screenshot.
First, create a new sequence for the clip you are editing.

Next, go to the effects panel and apply the effects.

Start with "Horizontal Flip" to make the writing face the correct way.
Next, crop the footage to the inner edge of the Lightboard frame.
Now, scale the image to fill the screen and center it.

Your effects setting panel should resemble this.

Next, go to the color panel and adjust the image. Try to make the blacks deep and enhance the contrast of the image.

In the Curves section, super-saturate the blue spectrum; this will make the marker extra visible.

Your resulting footage should be vibrant and sharp-looking. Set the clip to export, copy the effects, and edit the rest of the clips!
